A 3D-documentary on the most powerful optic telescope in the world
Come June 2009, a film crew of German 3D film experts parallax raumprojektion is going to travel to Chile's Atacama Desert, one of the most arid places on earth. Here the VLT (Very Large Telescope) of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) is located.
It is the "sharpest eye of humankind", which in some wavelengths outperforms even the Hubble Space Telescope. One of the most fascinating scientific instruments ever built, it has found its home in one of the most exciting areas worldwide.
THE EYE uses the extraordinary and surprising effects of 3D film technique but certainly does not rest on its technical laurels alone. And though THE EYE's content will be targeted at the general public, the film's research and visuals will make it a pleasure to watch - for everyone: from school kids to astronomy scholars.
